All you have to do is ask for help. Everyone faces difficult situations, ranging from getting a rough night’s sleep to dealing with a death in the family or an unexpected divorce. Choose to recognize that the choices you make directly impact your experience.

Literally everything in life can be done while sober, and it can totally be enjoyable without drinking. What’s so funny about this analogy is that I honestly thought this would happen this way for me. I always thought I would wake up one day, just suddenly able to moderate my drinking. So yea, sometimes sobriety sucks. That’s just the nature of existence – there are ups and downs on the rollercoaster. The point is to make the most of the ride.

Now, not every program or therapy approach is going to work for you. But you don’t know until you try and you have to genuinely try.
